One of my all time favorite women of style is Stevie Nicks. Probably one of the most distinguishable female voice in rock and roll (barring Janis Joplin), her voice is like a wild wind that hits you in your core. More over, she has a killer gypsy/ free spirit look; Flowey fabrics, long hair, fringe and top hats? yes please...

Jamming for a cause...
What better way to raise money for a good cause than by combining art and music? Free people teamed up with Rickenbacker Guitars to create these beautiful pieces, each designed by a free people artist. The guitars will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to Music For A Cure. The auction is being held from March 15-April 3. Check them out here and show a little love...

the best from outside lands
A weekend in san fran full of food, friends, fashion, music, beer and a laser light show...who could ask for more?
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the three day festivities...
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the three day festivities...
Loving the chunky sweaters and the cape-lets paired with knee high boots to keep out the cool san Francisco night air.
Feathers=Happiness
My foot wear of choice, my moccasins
Leather fringe bag from the sawdust festival that I am currently infatuated with and my DIY flower headband.
Crazy hippy couple who are not afraid of color!
I don't really know what this area of the festival was but who cares, swings and kites and this crazy wooden fort, it's a dream land.
Day two headwear of choice: Lace and feather headpiece from an awesome lady at the fairfax flea market.
Spirit hoods were everywhere, every way you turned fuzzy animals were running around.
One of the more interesting get ups of the weekend although far from the most bizarre.
Hipster love.
Many many chiffon skirts paired with chunky knit sweaters. Perfect combo.
Sunset at the ranch= perfect way to relax after all the madness.

"I came upon a child of God..."
Its almost here, Festival season. Months filled with music, sun, food, and fashion; what more could a girl ask for. I saw the new look book on Planet Blue, inspired by Coachella and nearly died. Filled with leather, fringe, lace and contrasting textures, there is something whimsical and ethnic and a bit gritty about these shots. They make me wish I was on the road right now working my way through the desert...

Just Kids
I have just about finished Patti Smith's Memoir "Just Kids" but couldn't wait to write about it. It is not often that I find a biography that I simply can not put down but in Patti Smith's account of her life and her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe I found one. I loved this book, possibly because I am a sucker for the overly romanticized artist's struggle or possibly because of my infatuation with Patti Smith and her nonconformist air. Even though the book does not have the happiest of endings it left me feeling incredibly inspired; it makes me want to get off my butt and write, sing, draw, paint, travel, express....
