Under a Starry Sky

Just a few shots I took in an abandoned water tower Andrew and I found this weekend.
Inside it felt as if you were stepping into the night sky...if the night sky were covered in graffiti but still it was pretty nifty.

I can see clearly now...

Sometimes you need to climb to the top of the mountain to gain a little perspective. literally. or if not a mountain at least a very big hill. I'm blessed to have one such very big hill behind my house that offers the perfect place to step back and be thankful for what I have...

So a few days ago (well more then a few) Ali and I decided to take a hike to clear our heads and it turned into an impromptu photo sesh...devoid of makeup or pretense. I don't have all the photos yet but I figured I would post what was on my camera.

Weekend Shenanigans...

Is it just me or do the weekends go by faster as we get older??  I spent mine pretty much doing nothing...although i did plant my summer veggies and frolicked on a stormy beach with the ones I love (playing with my new fujifilm x10). Did you have any good weekend shenanigans?

Beyond here lies nothin'... Nothin' but the moon and stars

Dear Friends,

Last friday Ali and I visited Bad Lands, a prehistoric beach up above my house. There is a sort of indescribable feeling you get from being surrounded by rock and shrubs on all sides and yet your feet are in the sand. If you haven't been up there to explore I recommend you go. The sun was out and there was a california winter chill in the air. We had a pretty easygoing and playful shoot climbing rocks and trees and looking for treasure...

Enjoy
Love J

"Cause I'm free as a bird now, and this bird you can not change"

This Monday Ali and I took a little Trek into the canyon in search of some light and possibly a field...both of which we found. Battling thorny flowers, lots of crawly insects and wind we found the most amazing tree and a slew of wildflowers.

But I'm kicking my butt back into action; So here I go, throwing myself back into it. Last Monday, Ali and I took a stroll down to the community garden at the bottom of my hill. "sometimes your soul might make you stumble..."

On this lovely semi cloudy Monday Ali and I walked down to Table Rock Beach to do this weeks shoot. Thankfully it was empty and hence I avoided the embarrassment of running around the beach in front of a camera. I was having a severely indecisive clothing day, which I am sure every girl in the world can sympathize with but in the end settled with something flowy, and neutral, a water and sand like combo...

The Token "twirl" shot...

This cave created the perfect background to my very neutral outfit...

We live in paradise...

Make sure to check out Ali's amazing blog (although you are probably sick of seeing my face and I am also in her entrance project), and congratulate her for getting in to her first design school :) woo hoo!
